Connect SureCart to Omnisend for Smarter Automations

If you’re running your online store with SureCart on WordPress, you probably already love its streamlined checkout process. Step 1: Create and Connect Your Omnisend Account

First things first, I created a free account with Omnisend. After logging in, I landed on the “Connect to Store” page. From there, I selected the SureCart option. Omnisend then provided a list of required plugins and setup instructions to link everything together.

Here’s what you’ll need before you start:

  • SureCart is installed and active on your WordPress site.
  • Omnisend Plugin installed from the WordPress repository.

To do this, I simply navigated to my WordPress dashboard, went to Plugins → Add New, searched for “Omnisend,” and installed the plugin titled Newsletter, Email Marketing, SMS, and Popups by Omnisend. Once installed, I clicked Activate.

Step 2: Connect the API Key

Back in Omnisend, I copied the provided API key. Then, from my WordPress dashboard under the Omnisend Email Marketing menu, I selected Connect Omnisend. All I had to do was paste the API key, click Connect, and voilà — my store was officially synced!

  • Enable opt-ins for marketing emails at checkout (in addition to transactional emails).
  • Add phone number collection for SMS marketing campaigns.
  • Customize checkbox opt-in text and select whether they’re pre-checked or not.

After saving these changes, Omnisend automatically synced my products, customers, and orders. Now, any new order placed on my site flows straight into Omnisend for segmentation and automation.

Step 4: Test Your Checkout Sync

I placed a quick test order to confirm everything was working. My checkout page displayed two new opt-in boxes: one for email and one for SMS. After completing a test purchase, I went to my Omnisend Audience dashboard. Instantly, I saw the contact appear with their subscription preferences synced perfectly.

That means my store is now collecting both transactional and marketing-ready customer data — exactly what we need for automated workflows and campaigns.
