How to Create Friends list on Facebook

friends list on FacebookFacebook is a valuable tool both professionally and personally but you might have concerns with how much is shared and with whom. Facebook does a great job of giving you the ability to adjust several security settings to minimize those risks.  Setting up several Friends list on Facebook is a great way to separate your business and personal friends to see only certain Facebook posts.
Separating your friends and business colleagues
Separating your friends from business clients on Facebook is relatively easy. If you have several business clients and you don’t want them to see pics from your “night out on the town”  with your buddies, then I highly recommend setting up a friends list.
You could set up a Friends list for friends who are potential or current clients, or who are in a membership, or went to the same college.
To set up a friends list on your desktop/laptop click the Home button (or the Facebook logo on the top left),  from the list on the left hand side towards the bottom, hover of FRIENDS, and click the MORE link.
On the following page you can now create your own friends list and edit the ones that Facebook has created.  Once complete your new list will now be listed on the left side of the Facebook home page with the other lists under Friends.
The important step here is when you post a status update, notice the little down arrow next to the POST button, by default it says “PUBLIC”. Click the arrow and select what list your update should go to. Note: You may have to click the More Options link in the drop down, then the Custom link to find your list.
After your post has been published you will see it on your profile, but to friends and to the public not specified in the list the post will not be displayed. The friends on the list will see the post in their news feed and on your profile.
