In this post I share some of the great Twitter tools available for your business to better grow and monitor your brand and competitors, as well as finding potential and existing customers and engaging with them.
Twitter Trends Map (http://trendsmap.com) provides real-time global and local Twitter trends displayed on a map for free. Other features of the map are now with subscriptions. Basic is $90, Plus is $190 per year. Additionally you can customize your map by contacting the Trends Map team at http://solutions.trendsmap.com/.
Lists
I live by lists on Twitter! You have the ability to create public or private list of users within your Twitter account. Lists cut down on the clutter of the Twitter feed. For instance I have a short list of law enforcement agencies. Rather than waiting to see something in my feed from them, or clicking on their profile, I simply go to my list to see their latest tweets. I have several lists such as Blogging, Tech, Social Media, etc. that I check throughout the day. To create a list, click on the small profile thumbnail on the far right, then select Lists. On the right of the page, click “Create new list”, give it a name, a description and whether you want to have the list public or private.
To add someone to your list, go to their profile, click the gear icon, and select “add or remove from lists”, then check the lists(s) to add the profile.

Save searches
After you search for a hashtag phrase or keywords you have the option to save that search. Once saved, to find saved searches, click inside the search box, a drop down list will appear with all your saved searches.

Twitter widgets
Embedded timeline widgets give you the ability to embed a collection of Tweets on your own website. There are four types available, all of which look and feel like timelines on Twitter:
• User Timeline: Display public Tweets from any user on Twitter.
• Favorites: Show all Tweets a specific user has marked as favorites.
• List: Show Tweets from public lists that you own and/or subscribe to.
• Search: Display customized search results in real time (perfect for live events, conferences, brands, etc.).
To create a widget, go to your Twitter settings, and from the left navigation, click Widgets. For a complete how-to go to: https://support.twitter.com/articles/20170071-how-to-embed-a-timeline
You can be very creative with the widget tweets. Recently I created a video to turn Twitter widget into an RSS feed.

Analytics
Up until recently the only way to receive analytics for your Twitter account was if you were a Twitter advertiser, now it is free to any Twitter account owner. Twitter analytics allows you to gauge the performance of each and every tweet you send – How many people saw it, and how many of those actually clicked your links (i.e. engagement).
