How to Upload a Native Video to LinkedIn

In this video, I walk you through the steps to add native video to the LinkedIn feed from the desktop and mobile.

Over the last few months, LinkedIn has rolled out the ability to upload video natively to the LinkedIn feed.

The process is simple and straightforward. Upload your video (10 minutes or less), add in the introduction content and links and you’re done. LinkedIn will process the video and notify you when the video is completely uploaded.

In my testing, the native video has a wider reach than sharing a YouTube video or a blog post.

Why would we want to upload videos to LinkedIn?

  • Increase your audience
  • Grow your business by obtaining leads
  • Repurpose your videos on YouTube

Helpful Hints:
LinkedIn is a different audience than YouTube. I suggest taking a look at what you’re going to saying in the video and the supplemental content to provide context to business oriented people.

You can’t edit the video. There are no options for thumbnails. It grabs the first frame of the video as the thumbnail. I highly recommend that you edit your video by adding in your thumbnail image in the first frame and then upload it to LinkedIn.

Pay close attention to the analytics that LinkedIn provides for the video. The analytics will help share who is looking at your videos, where are they located, and in what companies do they work.
