Most YouTubers have a “500 subs” special, well, I’m doing a “600 subscribers thank you”!
Thank you to all who have subscribed, watched, commented, and provided feedback on my videos.
When I created this channel back in 2009, my focus was on blogging. At that time, my company was called SJC Web Design, and my focus was on creating HTML, Cold Fusion, PHP websites with some interest in social media marketing.
So, pretty much the YouTube channel was just an afterthought.
It wasn’t until early 2010 I created and posted my first video on the channel. The video was an animation depicting an ambush. The animation software, now defunct, was called Antics 3D. Gosh, I loved that program.
A few months later I posted a video called Top 10 Web Design Tips for Your Website. It was a simple PowerPoint slide deck with lots of bullet points on which I narrated. It was taken from a recent talk at that time on the topic of the business of security.
Seven years later my focus on why I created and shared those videos and the videos I do now has not changed – it is to assist people who need to find out how to do “X”. To share my knowledge and provide value.
Now “X” can be anything from how to set up a friends list on Facebook to what Twitter tools to use for social media intelligence.
If I figured out how to add social icons to a WordPress header for a client, then I would create a video to show others how I did it. No ego, no look at me, just provide what I know to help others.
Over the years, I’ve helped countless people for free, and I am happy to do so.
I make it a point to reply to just about all comments and questions on my videos.
Since 2009 the technology to create videos has changed quite a bit. I’m able now to make hi-definition (HD) videos with a green screen and daytime lights, so the quality of my videos has improved dramatically. But my purpose has not it will always be to help people succeed in finding answers. Speaking of finding answers, if you have any questions about social media, WordPress, marketing web design, or even perhaps wanting to know more about me, post a question below, and will be answered in another video. Thank you for your inspiration and support of this channel. You are what makes this channel succeed. And I’ll see you in the next video…
