Most lead magnets work the same way: a visitor fills out a form and receives a generic PDF in their inbox. But what if you could instantly personalize that lead magnet—without relying on Mailchimp, MailerLite, or any other email service provider?
In this post, I’ll show you how to use SureTriggers to:
✅ Dynamically generate personalized PDF Lead Magnets
✅ Save them to Google Drive
✅ Email the subscribers their customized lead magnets
All of this happens in seconds, automatically.

Step 1: Setting Up the Lead Magnet Form
I’m using SureForms on WordPress for this demo, but you can use any form plugin, such as WPForms or Gravity Forms.
The form collects three essential pieces of information:
- First Name
- Email Address
- The Report They Want to Download
After submission, users see a confirmation message:
“Thank you! Your selected report is on its way to your inbox.”
Step 2: Triggering the Automation with SureTriggers
Once a user submits the form, SureTriggers takes over. The workflow follows three different paths, depending on which report the user selects:
- Path A → Email Marketing Report
- Path B → Social Media Marketing Report
- Path C → Digital Marketing Report
Each path follows the same steps to create a personalized lead magnet dynamically.
Step 3: Optionally Adding Subscribers to MailerLite
This step is optional, but useful if you want to target subscribers based on the report they downloaded.
SureTriggers adds the subscriber to MailerLite in my demo and assigns them a subscriber group tag (e.g., “Email Marketing Report”).
If you’re using an ESP for follow-ups, this is a great way to segment your audience for future email campaigns.
Step 4: Auto-Generating a Personalized Coupon Code
I’m also generating a unique coupon code for each subscriber to increase engagement. This code offers 25% off my email marketing course.
Using SureCart (or WooCommerce), SureTriggers automatically creates a discount code with custom rules, including:
✅ Usage limits
✅ Expiration date
This personalized touch encourages conversions while making the lead magnet feel more valuable.
Step 5: Creating a Personalized Google Doc
Now, we move into the real magic—dynamically inserting user data into a report.
Using Google Docs, SureTriggers creates a document from a template and inserts:
- The subscriber’s first name
- Their unique coupon code
The key is using curly brackets in the Google Doc template:
📌 Example:
“Howdy {firstname}, here’s your exclusive Email Marketing Report!”
This ensures that each subscriber receives a customized version of the report.
Step 6: Converting the Google Doc to a PDF
Once the Google Doc is personalized, SureTriggers automatically converts it into a PDF.
How?
1️⃣ SureTriggers downloads the document as a PDF
2️⃣ The system generates a unique document ID
3️⃣ This PDF is linked to SureTriggers AWS
Step 7: Uploading the PDF to Google Drive
Instead of sending a direct file link from SureTriggers (AWS link), I upload the PDF to a Google Drive folder named “PDFs->Files”
This ensures that subscribers receive a reliable and permanent download link.
Using SureTriggers, I:
✔️ Select Google Drive as the action
✔️ Upload the PDF file to my Reports folder
✔️ Grab the shareable link for the next step
Step 8: Sending a Personalized Email with the PDF Link
Finally, the last step is delivering the personalized lead magnet via email!
I’m using Gmail/Google Workspace inside SureTriggers to send the email.
📧 Email Example:
“Howdy [First Name], here’s your [Report Name]! Click below to download it.”
