We’re talking all about Mailchimp email templates! I’ll discuss what email templates are and why you should use them in your email marketing efforts. I’ll walk you through creating an email template and using it with a Mailchimp Customer Journey.
So, let’s get started!
What is an email template?
If you’re unfamiliar with templating and Mailchimp, you might be asking, what the heck is a template? Well, an email template is basically a predesigned layout with some structure and some formatting, some style, and maybe some content that you apply to an email that you want to send out.
Why Creating an Email Template is Useful for Your Business
There are a few good reasons why creating email templates can be helpful for your business.
Here are three of them:
Consistency
By creating a set of templates for all of your emails, you can ensure that your style and branding are consistent across all communications. Consistency can build trust with your audience and make your brand more recognizable.
Time-saving
Writing individual emails from scratch every time you need to communicate with someone can be incredibly time-consuming. Creating templates can streamline the process, allowing you to save time and focus on other vital tasks like the content of your email.
Personalization
While templates can help save time, it doesn’t mean all your emails must look exactly the same. By customizing each template with different images, text, and other elements, you can still create personalized and engaging communications for your audience.
Two Ways to Create a Template
There are two ways in which you can get to create an email template. The first way is to click the big green create button, and if you click on email, you’ll find a link to the template. So that’s one way to do it. The other way is to go back and mouse over your admin menu, scroll down to under content, and click on email templates there.
Classic vs. New Beta Builder Templates
In my demo, I used the new beta email builder in Mailchimp. So my templates will look different than yours if you are using the classic builder. Virtually, it’s the same process.
We’re going to be using blocks to build out our template. We’re going to stylize and format it, and you can do the same in classic that you can do in the new email builder.
