ViewedIt is a free extension for your Chrome browser. Simply install the extension and connect it with your Google account or create a ViewedIt account for free.
ViewedIt allows you to record your screen or just a tab from your browser or just a webcam or both the desktop and webcam.
To start, install the extension from the Chrome web store. Once installed, to start a recording, click on the ViewedIt extension icon in your browser. Select what you would like to record, and click Record.
When finished with recording your video, click the ViewedIt extension icon to stop the recording.
A new browser window opens with your video with a variety of ways to share the video, including Gmail.
For me, ViewedIt cuts down on the email back and forth. For example, I typically send an email to a client with directions or perhaps showing a design change with attached images. With one video I can communicate clearly and show the design change. The video cuts going back and forth down to a minimum.
To add a ViewedIt video to Gmail, open a new email, at the very bottom, click on the ViewedIt extension icon, and it will automatically attach the latest video you recorded.
ViewedIt offers statistics for your videos as well. You can track, view time, how many views, who viewed and in what location to name a few.
You can also add a thumbnail to your videos to replace the predetermined thumbnail from ViewedIt.
